Over the last 40 years OSE has established itself as a major EPC and BOT contender in the Roads and Highways Sector. In the 1970's OSE began by executing rigid and flexible pavement projects in Northern India. Over the better part of 1970's and 1980's OSE strengthened and extended runways around India's prominent airports. The last count of the runway projects OSE has been associated with stood at 39.
In the late 1990's OSE began executing road projects on an EPC basis for NHAI and since then Oriental has built its reputation as an EPC contractor that executes projects in a timely manner and assures the highest quality. Several key EPC projects that are testimony to OSE's superior execution capabilities, are:
- Projects executed for NHAI on NH - 2, NH - 3, NH - 7, NH - 25
- GAR project at Delhi International Airport (T-3) for DIAL
- Salem Ulunderpet for Reliance Energy Limited
- 85 kms of Yamuna Expressway for Jaiprakash Associated Limited
- 60 kms of Pune Sholapur for Tata - Atlantia JV
- India's first Formula 1 Race Track for JPSI
Around 2005 - 06 OSE ventured into the PPP programme of NHAI by winning three BOT projects. Since then Oriental has grown its portfolio by achieving 8 such projects thereby building roads with a total length of 750 kms at a total project cost of ~ Rs. 11,000 cr. Projects earned by OSE in the PPP model are as follows :-
- Agra - Bharatpur
- Indore - Khalghat
- Kondahali - Talegaon
- Rewa Bypass
- Nagpur Bypass
- Hungund - Hospet
- Nagpur - Betul
- Etawah - Chakeri
Going forward, Oriental is looking to leverage its experience and expertise in diversifying into other infrastructure sectors such as Hydro Power, Water Supply and Power Transmission.
